Biography

Mrs. McNeely currently teaches English 9, English 11, Creative Writing, Poetry, and Speech and Debate. She wears many hats as teacher, English Department Chair, and Debate coach.

Having grown up an avid reader and always encouraged to enhance her writing skills, Leslie McNeely always knew she would pursue creative arts. After graduating from Clearfield High School in 1996, Mrs. McNeely attended and later graduated from Weber State University with a BA degree in English/Technical Writing with a Dance Teaching minor in 2002. After working for three years as an administrative assistant, Mrs. McNeely returned to Weber State to pursue her teaching degree, which she completed in December 2006. She holds a Level 2 Utah Educator's License which allows her to teach grades 6-12 in the fields of English and Dance. Mrs. McNeely has worked at several schools throughout the Wasatch Front and is pleased to say that she has found a home at UMA. She enjoys bringing her knowledge, creativity, and teaching style to the students at UMA.

Following the philosophy, "Children are always the only future the human race has; teach them well," Mrs. McNeely is consistently working to find ways to teach her students in new and innovative ways and to give them a foundation on which to build their learning style and knowledge. There is nothing a student cannot do once he or she has set a goal to do so. Mrs. McNeely believes it is her job to help those students discover their dreams and work toward their goals—while also teaching students to read, write, listen, and speak.

Leslie McNeely lives in Ogden with her husband, Raymond, and their two dogs, Megan and Bandit. In her spare time, Mrs. McNeely enjoys reading, dancing, and watching her favorite television shows and movies. She also enjoys family vacations and shopping.

She is looking forward to a wonderful year!
